Writing

Welcome to my world of writing.

I would call myself an aspiring writer, but one piece of advice that I got given was to never call oneself that, since you only aspire to write if you do not write. And considering I have a blog, a diary, and several writing projects on the go, I definitely do write. Maybe unpublished is the better word to use.

I am an avid participant of NaNoWriMo, with one book being written and one book being edited (I'm writing the new book to persuade myself to go back to the old one and continue editing after I hit a bit of a block) and several others ready to get out from the vaults of my imagination.

To help with my writing, I also take part in challenges, such as the 101 Theme challenge. As a titbit, here are four of the themes that I have done, to persuade you to visit my main blog and read everything else I have written and posted up there.

6. Empty Threat (01/02/10)

“Dammit Light, when are you going to stop this?” Raquel complained.
Her twin looked at her from over the counter. “I can’t stop anything if you don’t tell me what I should be stopping.”
“Going off whenever you feel like it, and never getting in contact. It’s not fair to me.”
“You know why I have to go, and I don’t keep in regular contact because sometimes I can’t. You should know by now that it hurts me as much as it hurts you, but I have to do this. For everyone’s sake.”
Raquel sniffed and turned away. “I should just stop talking to you, if you’re not going to stop.”
“That’s an empty threat and we both know it.” Light came up and hugged her twin from behind. “There’s nothing going on right now, so I can stay here as long as that lasts, which should be a long time considering what’s just happened.”
Raquel sniffed again. “Promise you won’t go anywhere before our birthday?”
Light smiled, “Promise. We’ve still got to show those boy’s of yours what we can do.”
Her twin turned around and hugged her back. “True.” She murmured. For now it was enough that Light was here, and she was going to enjoy it while it lasted, for Light was right. She could never sever ties with her - it was always an empty threat.

10. Kiss (01/02/10)
He could feel those green eyes watching him as he walked. Adam smiled to himself, she’d been following him for a while now. He went into the next room, and quickly ducked to the side, out of the sightline of the door, and waited. Not a minute later, she walked through the door, and he pounced, grabbing the women around the waist and landing on the sofa, effectively pinning her. She laughed as they landed, her long red hair flying around them. “Well good morning to you too.”
Adam chuckled as he wrapped his arms around her. “Was there anything in particular you wanted? Or were you just following me to look at my arse?”
Willow wrapped her arms around his neck, “It’s a nice arse. But there was something I wanted.”
Adam waited for her to go on, but she didn’t, “What was it?”
“This.” And she pulled his head down to meet hers and kissed him. It didn’t end for quite some time. Adam finally pulled back, with a glint in his eye. “You wanted a kiss?”
“Who said I only wanted one?”
Adam grinned and kissed her lips again, completely forgetting about the errand he had been running beforehand. Willow was a very distracting person.

40. Apologize (21/02/11)
Meg did not want to enter that room. But fuck it, she was going in, to tell her mother once again, to stop get out of her life. She thought she’d done it plainly enough on the docks, but apparently not.
With a hearty sigh, she pushed open the door, announcing her entrance into the room with a bang. “What the hell do you want Maysa?”
At that moment, the look on Maysa’s face was priceless. Meg had forgotten quite how much her face had changed in the twelve years she had been away. She probably should have remembered that it would be quite a shock to these guys.
Maysa was stuttering incoherently at her. Internally it amused Meg, but not she kept the scowl on her face.
“Well if you don’t want anything, I’m leaving.” And she turned to do so.
“No!” Maysa managed to shout out. “No, I just, well.” She cleared her throat. “We need you Megan. We need fire to come back with us, you should know why.”
 Megan’s mouth twitched.
“I apologize, but that’s just not going to happen.”
At this point Rodrick stepped in. “Megan, it doesn’t matter what you’ve done up til this point, you can still come back with us. You have to help us, we can’t do it without you.”
She sighed. “You really don’t get it do you. Most importantly, I don’t care about any of that that stuff anymore. I walked away from everything twelve years ago, and that still stands. And secondly, fire doesn’t live here anymore, I actually can’t help you.”
“What do you mean, you’re fire.”
Megan shrugged. “I keep telling you, I walked away from all that. And when I did I didn’t need that power anymore. So I traded it away.” She turned around and walked through the door. “So yeah, sorry, but you’re going to have to look elsewhere for the answer to your problem. Don’t come near me again.”

88. Proud (09/10/13)
Daniel rushed up to his mother, face alight with excitement.
“I got it mama! I got it!”
Lara opened her arms wide to embrace her son. He hit her and she swept him up and round to place a big kiss on his cheek.
“I’m so proud of you baby boy.”
“Mom! I’m not a baby anyone.”
“You’ll always be my baby boy though.” She planted another kiss on his cheek.
“Should you really be proud of him?”
Lara turned around. “Why on earth shouldn’t I be. He’s managed to sneak in to the targeted location, evade all the guard, disable a couple of traps, lifted the item he was supposed to get, and managed to get out again without alerting anyone that he was there and something was amiss.” She ruffled her young sons hair. “I think being proud of and praising something that grown adults sometimes find hard to do is something I definitely should do.”
Moran threw his hands up and shook his head. “Thieves!”
